Adorama drone photo contest

Adorama drone photo contest offers $3,000 worth of prizes

Just as the entry window for the SkyPixel 7th Anniversary Aerial Photo & Video Contest is coming to a close, there’s another drone art contest for you to enter, this one hosted by online camera retailer Adorama. The Adorama drone photo contest is dubbed the “Create No Matter What Creative Challenge,” and entails a DJI prize package worth over $3,000.

The Create No Matter What Creative Challenge is being hosted by photographer Malachy Sherlock and lets you submit up to five photos either through Adorama’s upload page here or via your personal Instagram account and tagging them with both the #CreateNoMatterWhat and #Adorama hashtags.

The contest is looking for the best images shot from the sky — though you don’t necessarily have to use a DJI drone, or even a drone, period. Balloons, helicopters and kites are all valid, too.

The winner will walk away with a giant DJI prize pack. Valued at about $3,000, it includes (this is not a complete list):

Additionally, three runners-up will each receive a SanDisk 256GB Extreme UHS-I Class 10 V30 U3 microSDXC Memory Card with SD Adapter.

Judging will be based on criteria including adherence to challenge theme, originality of expression, quality or artistic composition and aesthetic design, composition, lighting and visual and emotional impact. To help understand what the judges are looking for, Sherlock put together a promo video for the challenge with his tips:

There are a few important rules:

  • You must be age eighteen or older to enter.
  • You must be a resident of any of the fifty U.S. states to enter.
  • You may submit up to five photos.
  • Entry photographs that are submitted online must be .JPEG or .PNG format.
  • Photographs must contain no nudity, explicit sexual content or material that could reasonably be seen as offensive to some.

You have until Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. ET to enter the Adorama drone photo contest. From there, winners will be announced on the same week on Friday, March 4 at noon ET.
