2021 Women To Watch Global Awards nominations are now open

If you know an incredible, female rising star in the drone industry, then now is the time to get her some recognition. The nomination period for the 2021 Women To Watch Global Awards is now open.

2021 marks the fifth year of the annual Women To Watch in UAS awards, which are run by online drone community Women and Drones.

For the first time, this year’s award put actual money on the table. The honoree for each category will receive a $500 micro-grant toward her drone business or research.

The awards will be presented at the 2021 Interdrone conference on the main stage, alongside a panel discussion with the honorees. The 2021 Interdrone conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas, from August 10-12.

Awards will be given in the following categories (with categories both for individual women and for entire companies or organizations):

• Leadership: an individual woman who motivates efforts around education, policy, research & development, innovation, business and humanitarian work
• Entrepreneurship: an individual woman who has impacted the drone industry with business acumen and innovative practices
• Public Safety/Service: an individual woman who serves the public in any capacity via community involvement or betterment service-oriented activities, including but not limited to: humanitarian work, public policy, military/federal/law enforcement or public safety
• Education: an individual woman who uses drones fo teaching, such as through creating drone-related curriculum, developing drone programs opportunities and programs, or providing professional development to others as an ambassador for drone and STEM education.
• Team innovation: a team, group, company, agency or organization that encourages and inspires women within the drone industry.
• Team spotlight: a team, group, company, agency or organization whose overall work contributes to the positive public perception of drones while fostering a culture of female empowerment and inclusiveness where women are engaged in key roles and/or in leadership positions

You can submit a nomination through the official 2021 Women To Watch Global Awards nominations form. To nominate someone, you’ll have to register an account and fill out information about the person you’re nominating, describing why they’re a rising star. And yes, you can nominate yourself. Nominations for the 2021 Women To Watch Global Awards close on May 14, 2021.
